Reliable Transport

The LiveU solo contains a robust and high-quality encoder based on LiveU's bonding technology and the integral LRT (LiveU Reliable Transport) protocol. Optimized for video performance, the LiveU Solo delivers high-quality video streams with minimal artifacting and dropped frames by using LRT's integral adaptive bit rate and Forward Error Correction technology.

Fully Integrated Solution

              Designed to fit seamlessly with a variety of web streaming workflows, the LiveU Solo connects automatically to Facebook, Wowza Streaming Cloud, as well as other popular CDNs, OVPs, and YouTube Live. Solo can be managed and controlled remotely via a web interface or smartphone.

               On the transmission side, and as part of the overall streaming solution, this small, easy-to-use encoder includes full bonding capabilities for maximizing transmission bandwidth.

Packet Ordering

LRT uses numbered packets so that the packets can be re-ordered when they arrive out of order. Packet Ordering is a requirement with connection bonding, where data usually arrives in a different order than intended.

Dynamic Forward Error Correction (FEC)

Forward Error Correction adds some overhead to the stream to recover lost data faster. LRT automatically varies the FEC parameters based on monitored network conditions.

Acknowledge and Resend

LRT can acknowledge large groups of packets if they all arrived. If packets are missing, LRT can inform the streaming engine to resend the needed data. The advantage of acknowledging large packets of data is that LRT uses less overhead, resulting in less latency. As opposed to UDP (User Datagram Protocol), LRT gives a complete feedback loop so the user knows that the data arrives correctly.

Adaptive Bit Rate Encoding

As the bandwidth condition changes, LRT automatically recognizes the changes and modifies the encoding settings to adapt the bit rate of the outgoing video. This technology balances a constant unbroken stream with the best possible quality for the available bit rate.
