EOS C200 มาพร้อมเซ็นเซอร์ 4K Super 35mm large-format CMOS ความละเอียด 8.85 ล้านพิกเซล (effective pixels) ทำงานร่วมกับหน่วยประมวลผลพัฒนาใหม่ Dual DIGIC DV 6 ให้ภาพความละเอียดสูงและรายละเอียดคมชัด รองรับการถ่ายภาพในฟอร์แมตใหม่คือ Cinema RAW Light โดยสามารถบันทึกวิดีโอในฟอร์แมต DCI 4K 60p/50p RAW ไปยังการ์ดหน่วยความจำ CFast 2.0 (VPG130) โดยไม่ต้องใช้อุปกรณ์อื่นช่วย ทั้งนี้ไฟล์ภาพในฟอร์แมต 4K Cinema RAW Light สามารถเก็บข้อมูลได้มาก จึงช่วยลดการสูญเสียคุณภาพเมื่อเปลี่ยนฟอร์แมตภาพ อีกทั้งเหมาะสำหรับการถ่ายวีดีโอ HDR อีกด้วย นอกจากนี้ยังสามารถบันทึกวิดีโอ 4K UHD 60p/50p ในฟอร์แมต MP4 ไปยังการ์ด SD กล้องรุ่นนี้มีระบบออโต้โฟกัส Dual Pixel CMOS AF ที่ควบคุมได้ผ่านหน้าจอทัชสกรีนเพื่อความสะดวกในการกำหนดตำแหน่งโฟกัสอย่างแม่นยำ EOS C200 สามารถใช้เป็นกล้องสำรองของ EOS C700 และ EOS C300 Mark II ได้ โดยรองรับ Canon Log และ Canon Log-3 อีกทั้งมีน้ำหนักเบา รูปทรงกะทัดรัด เหมาะสำหรับการพกพาไปใช้งานภาคสนาม ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการรายงานข่าวจากสถานที่เกิดเหตุ หรือการถ่ายทำสารคดี

EOS C200 ใช้หน่วยประมวลผลภาพล่าสุดของแคนนอน DIGIC DV 6 สองชุด รองรับการถ่ายวิดีโอ 60p/50p ทั้งในฟอร์แมต DCI 4K และ 4K UHD โดยไม่ต้องใช้อุปกรณ์ช่วยบันทึกภายนอก อีกทั้งสามารถบันทึกวิดีโอ DCI 4K ไปยังการ์ดหน่วยความจำ CFast 2.0 ในฟอร์แมต Cinema RAW Light ได้โดยตรง จึงได้ไฟล์ที่มีขนาดเพียง 1 ใน 3 ถึง 1 ใน 5 ของไฟล์ฟอร์แมต Cinema RAW เท่านั้น Cinema RAW Light ช่วยให้ผู้ใช้สามารถทำการปรับสีภาพ (colour grading) โดยไม่เจาะจงอุปกรณ์เอาท์พุทใดเป็นพิเศษ จึงเหมาะสำหรับการสร้างสรรค์ฟุตเทจ HDR ส่วนฟุตเทจ UHD จะถูกบันทึกลงในการ์ด SD ในฟอร์แมต MP4 กล้องรุ่นนี้มีช่องใส่การ์ด SD ถึง 2 ช่อง จึงสามารถถ่ายวิดีโอได้นานต่อเนื่อง เอาท์พุท SDI รองรับ ACESproxy เวอร์ชัน 1.0 ซึ่งเมื่อใช้กับอุปกรณ์แสดงภาพที่รองรับจะช่วยให้ผู้ใช้สามารถตรวจดูภาพวิดีโอได้ในระหว่างการปรับสีภาพรวมถึงขณะถ่ายวิดีโอ จึงช่วยเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพและความต่อเนื่องในการทำงาน 

EOS C200 ใช้เซ็นเซอร์ภาพ Super 35mm CMOS ความละเอียด 8.85 ล้านพิกเซล เช่นเดียวกับรุ่นแฟล็กชิปอย่าง EOS C700 จึงสามารถถ่ายวิดีโอ 4K ที่มีสีสันสวยงามและมีคุณภาพสูง ค่าความไวแสงขยายได้ต่ำสุดถึง ISO 100 ซึ่งเมื่อใช้ร่วมกับฟิลเตอร์ ND ในตัวกล้องจะได้โบเก้ที่สวยงามอันเป็นคุณสมบัติเฉพาะของเซ็นเซอร์ภาพขนาดใหญ่ แม้จะถ่ายภาพโดยใช้แสงกลางวันก็ตาม ค่าความไวแสงสูงสุด ISO 102,400 ขยายได้เป็น Gain 54dB เพื่อให้สามารถถ่ายภาพตอนกลางคืนในสภาพแสงที่ไม่เอื้ออำนวยได้ คุณภาพความมีมิติแบบวิดีโอ 4K ยังสามารถถ่ายทอดออกมาได้แม้ใช้เอาท์พุทแบบ 2K/Full HD ด้วยระบบ Over Sampling HD Processing ที่จะทำการปรับขนาดข้อมูลวิดีโอให้เหมาะสมตามสถานการณ์ รวมถึงช่วยลดการเกิดลายคลื่น (moire) และการแตกพร่าของภาพวิดีโอ จึงทำให้การสร้างสรรค์วิดีโอที่สวยงามสมบูรณ์แบบเป็นจริงได้ 

การโฟกัสของกล้องควบคุมโดยระบบ Dual Pixel CMOS AF ที่แคนนอนพัฒนาขึ้นเอง ทำให้การโฟกัสเป็นไปอย่างรวดเร็วและต่อเนื่องไม่สะดุด ครอบคลุมพื้นที่ 80% ทั้งแนวตั้งและแนวนอนของจอภาพ อีกทั้งมีระบบ Face Detection AF สำหรับการโฟกัสใบหน้าคน และ Continuous AF สำหรับการติดตามโฟกัสต่อเนื่อง ในการถ่ายวิดีโอ 4K โดยใช้เซ็นเซอร์ภาพขนาดใหญ่อาจไม่ง่ายนักในการโฟกัสอย่างแม่นยำด้วยตัวเอง กล้องรุ่นนี้จึงรองรับการควบคุมออโต้โฟกัสผ่านหน้าจอระบบสัมผัสเพื่อเพิ่มความสะดวกแก่ผู้ใช้ พร้อมทั้งรองรับเลนส์ EF Cinema Servo บางรุ่น และเลนส์ EF หลากหลายรุ่น มีเมนูสำหรับการปรับความเร็วออโต้โฟกัสและคุณสมบัติในการติดตามโฟกัสวัตถุ รวมถึงโหมดใหม่คือ AF-Boosted MF ที่ช่วยลดการเกิดโฟกัสเคลื่อนไปมาโดยไม่ได้ตั้งใจ และมีระบบปรับการโฟกัสอย่างละเอียดเพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการของนักสร้างภาพยนตร์ด้วย นอกจากนี้ยังมีฟังก์ชัน Browser Remote ที่ช่วยให้ผู้ใช้สามารถควบคุมการตั้งค่าการทำงานของกล้องด้วยคอมพิวเตอร์แท็บเล็ตผ่านการเชื่อมต่อ Wi-Fi จึงสามารถโฟกัสได้อย่างแม่นยำแม้ติดตั้งกล้องเข้ากับเครนหรือโดรน
